Job Description

Join Ghafari in Dearborn, Michigan as a Business Development Director for Federal Projects. This onsite role focuses on growing the federal sector through strategic planning, client relationship management, lead generation and pursuit management, and project oversight. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, business administration, or a related field and 15+ years of relevant experience are required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to expand Ghafari’s services and grow client accounts, with an emphasis on long-term partnerships and sustainable growth.
  • Build and sustain strong client relationships, ensuring alignment between client needs and Ghafari’s capabilities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic insights and tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to provide project oversight and guidance to ensure high-quality project delivery.
  • Monitor account financial performance, including forecasting, budgeting, and profitability analysis, and identify opportunities to optimize resources for cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to develop compelling proposals, presentations, and innovative solutions that address client needs and drive growth.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to secure favorable terms and long-term commitments.
  • Research industry trends, market conditions, and emerging opportunities to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Participate in relevant industry organizations and events.

Requirements

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities with a focus on achieving long-term goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trust with clients, partners, multidisciplinary project teams, and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with government contracting processes and regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, business administration, or a related field is required.
  • 15+ years of experience in military, government, or related industries.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and delivering results in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
  • Expertise in client relationship management, contract negotiation, and business development.
