Job Description

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a senior business development leader to drive new client acquisition and growth within the Utilities segment from its Market Unit. This on-site role in New York focuses on translating sector insight into large opportunities by coordinating TCS’s portfolio across cross-functional teams to deliver innovation-led partnerships. The objective is to generate demand, capture qualified opportunities, and expand TCS’s footprint across targeted industries.

Responsibilities

  • Shape new business opportunities and large deals for the Utilities vertical.
  • Develop deep industry knowledge of clients in the Utilities sector to inform strategy.
  • Orchestrate the TCS ecosystem to structure innovation-led partnerships with new clients.
  • Drive measurable impact for clients through TCS’s portfolio of services and solutions.
  • Establish cross-functional CXO relationships and generate market momentum for TCS in identified markets.
  • Meet growth targets by originating deals and acquiring new logos through proactive demand generation, consultative selling, and thought leadership throughout the buyer journey.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated sales hunting experience with a proven track record in building executive relationships, opening new accounts, creating large deals, and closing opportunities across multiple IT service lines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • 12-15 years of overall selling experience with knowledge of the Utilities vertical.
  • Preferably experience in a leading IT services or consulting firm with collaboration across global teams.
  • Direct industry experience of working with Utility companies is desirable.

Location

New York, NY (onsite)

Salary

USD 180,000 - 380,000 per year

Experience

Minimum 12 years of overall selling experience with knowledge of the Utilities sector. Proven ability to develop executive relationships, open new accounts, and close large deals across multiple IT service lines. Prior work in a leading IT services/consulting firm with global collaboration is preferred. Direct Utility industry experience is desirable.
