Ecological Restoration & Manager Inc seeks a dynamic, proactive Business Development Manager to drive growth, forge strategic partnerships, and cultivate long-term client relationships to expand the firm’s market presence in the ecological restoration sector. This is an onsite, full-time role based in Cockeysville, MD.

Overview
The Business Development Manager identifies new opportunities, pursues contacts across target audiences, and builds partnerships with contractors, engineers, developers, and landscape architects. The role collaborates with management to meet existing clients in person, maintains a visible presence in the field, and seeks to rekindle relationships with clients from the prior three years. A strong emphasis is placed on field engagement, cross-functional teamwork with production and estimating colleagues, and the development of proactive sales strategies to grow ER&M’s project portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Pursue new client contacts and leads across target markets
- Strengthen relationships with contractors, engineers, developers, and landscape architects
- Identify new avenues and resources to uncover opportunities
- Arrange meet-and-greets and lunch-and-learns with new opportunities
- Involve the existing team in client presentations
- Coordinate with management to meet existing clients in person and maintain a consistent presence
- Reconnect with clients from the past three years to rekindle relationships
- Develop a quarterly or biannual schedule to maintain client engagement
- Collaborate with production and estimating staff to maintain relationships with ongoing project teams (Estimator, PM, Assistant PM, Superintendents)
- Follow up on bids and present solutions, including value engineering options, to close sales
- Organize and implement sales strategies with input from company principals
- Participate in current networking activities and events
- Explore additional networking opportunities through associations and trade shows
- Join committees and boards of industry associations to build relationships and spread ER&M awareness
- Respond promptly to inquiries from prospects and clients
- Engage clients through meals and events when feasible
- Maintain organized records of sales activities and progress
- Stay current with estimating software and sales tools
- Monitor market trends and adjust strategies accordingly
- Coordinate and procure marketing materials, tchotchkes, and trade show assets
- Analyze market trends to develop innovative growth strategies
- Demonstrate high energy and a proactive, results-driven mindset
- Maintain a field-focused approach, allocating approximately 80 percent of time in the field and 20 percent in the office
Requirements
- Proven ability to analyze market trends and formulate growth strategies
- Experience working with quotas
- Capability to develop and present a personal business development plan
- Existing professional contacts and client base
- Proactive and assertive in pursuing opportunities
- Willingness to spend substantial time in the field, approximately 80 percent
- Self-motivated, with a high energy level
