Job Description

Arctic Fisheries, LLC. is hiring a hunter-style Business Development Manager to drive pure net-new account growth across multiple customer segments. This onsite role in Buffalo, NY focuses on prospecting, qualifying, and closing new business while representing Arctic’s seafood portfolio with credibility around quality, reliability, and sustainability.

You will build pipeline from scratch, lead competitive conversations that win against incumbent suppliers, and develop relationships with the decision-makers who buy seafood every day. The role includes travel as needed for account visits, trade shows, and customer meetings, supported by an experienced operations team and deep product training from a highly knowledgeable seafood group.

What You’ll Do

  • Prospect and self-generate a pipeline of qualified leads through cold calling and outreach across food service distribution, retail, restaurant groups, seafood wholesalers, and institutional buyers
  • Displace incumbent seafood suppliers by leading with value, product knowledge, and Arctic Fisheries’ proven reliability and sustainability credentials
  • Run consultative discovery conversations to uncover operational pain points such as stockouts, quality inconsistency, and supplier consolidation needs
  • Present and close on the full Arctic Fisheries portfolio, including cod, haddock, pollock, lobster, crab, shrimp, salmon, and specialty species
  • Build relationships with purchasing managers, executive chefs, food service directors, and procurement leads
  • Track activity, pipeline, and forecasts with discipline while owning your numbers
  • Attend industry trade shows and seafood events to generate leads and expand your network

What You Bring

  • A proven hunting mindset: you generate your own pipeline, don’t wait for leads, and respond to rejection with persistence
  • Comfort with cold outreach across phone, email, and in-person interactions, plus the ability to follow up consistently without needing direction
  • Strong qualification skills, including knowing when to pursue and when to move on
  • Product curiosity and seafood knowledge as a major asset, particularly because you will sell to people who know fish and their business
  • Competitive, self-motivated execution with accountability to your numbers without hand-holding
  • Relationship building grounded in trust and integrity, supported by a culture that has run on handshakes for 100 years
  • 3+ years of B2B sales in a new business development or hunting role, with food service, seafood, or perishable distribution strongly preferred
  • A demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding new account acquisition targets
  • Experience selling into food service operators, distributors, retailers, or institutional buyers is a significant plus
  • ERP proficiency and disciplined pipeline management habits
  • Ability to travel as needed for account visits, trade shows, and customer meetings
