Job Description

Join a mission-driven federal agency in Washington, DC, and help expand U.S. export opportunities around the world. This on-site role offers a competitive salary range of USD 85,447 to 133,142 per year and a comprehensive federal benefits package. You will grow EXIM's international portfolio, pursue new export opportunities, manage client relationships, and market EXIM programs to targeted regions and sectors, with a focus on clean energy, Sub-Saharan Africa, and transformational export areas.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large, long-duration initiatives that mobilize internal and external resources to achieve strategic objectives in areas such as clean energy, Sub-Saharan Africa, transformational exports, and technology.
  • Apply conventional transactional processing methods and financial services management techniques to analyze credit and financial statements of potential or returning clients.
  • Meet with potential clients within the assigned region or industry who may participate in U.S. export transactions.
  • Design, implement, and monitor marketing plans for special initiatives within the Chief Commercial Officer’s portfolio; prepare status reports for leadership.
  • Develop program literature on EXIM financial service programs, product lines, processes, and operating system infrastructure, including working capital guarantees, export credit insurance, loan guarantees, and direct loans, for internal and public use.
  • Serve as a primary contact for key regions, industries, or export categories as needed.
  • Educate clients on the range of EXIM and other agency programs available to exporters and importers of U.S. equipment and services.
  • Advise clients on how to apply for U.S. government financing solutions, program requirements, applicable fees, and documentary and credit requirements for appropriate policy and program structures.
  • Ensure qualified leads are followed up in a timely manner.
  • Provide guidance on credit standards and country limitations from initial contact through to a well-structured, complete application submission to EXIM.
  • Represent EXIM as a public speaker on mid- to long-term export transactions, trade finance, and related issues; participate in conferences and seminars as appropriate.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Background and security suitability investigation
  • Possible one-year probationary period
  • Specialized experience must be documented on your resume
  • If you are or have been a current or former political appointee within the last five years, you must disclose this information
  • Financial disclosure of personal and immediate family holdings may be required
  • National security clearance (Confidential, Secret, Top Secret, or Top Secret/SCI) required
  • Random drug testing after employment begins
  • GS-11 level specialized experience, or education substitution for PhD or equivalent doctoral degree
    • Experience contributing to marketing plan development for global export promotion initiatives
    • Experience providing input on selling and promoting organizational services and designing marketing content
    • Experience formulating communication plans and digital outreach campaigns and researching market data
    • Education substitution: three years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree
    • Or combining education and experience to qualify
  • GS-12 level specialized experience (cannot substitute education)
    • Experience designing, implementing, and monitoring marketing plans for global export promotion initiatives
    • Experience selling and promoting organizational products and services and designing marketing content
    • Experience guiding the exporting and importing community on finance regulations and limitations

How You Will Be Evaluated

Applicants are reviewed using a category rating approach. Qualified candidates are placed into Best Qualified, Well Qualified, or Qualified categories based on how closely their experience and credentials match the requirements. Veterans preferences are considered within each category.
