Hotel Sales Manager
Job Description
Join Hartford Marriott Downtown in Hartford, CT as a Hotel Sales Manager and help drive top-line revenue through proactive corporate sales. You will build lasting relationships with key accounts, negotiate corporate rates, and focus on increasing room nights, meeting space utilization, and ancillary revenue for our full-service hotel. This role requires close collaboration with revenue management, operations, and catering to deliver seamless client experiences.
Responsibilities
- Prospect and nurture new and existing corporate accounts to meet revenue targets.
- Meet monthly, quarterly, and annual room-night and revenue goals.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and cold outreach.
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with key corporate clients.
- Conduct regular sales calls, site tours, and client entertainment.
- Maintain detailed account records and production history in CI/TY.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and repeat business.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.
- Participate in local and national networking events, trade shows, and industry organizations.
- Collaborate with revenue management to optimize pricing strategies and inventory controls.
- Coordinate with operations, front office, and event teams to ensure seamless execution of client expectations.
- Attend weekly sales meetings and contribute to strategy discussions.
- Work closely with the catering and group sales teams to maximize total hotel revenue.
- Prepare weekly sales reports, forecasts, and action plans.
- Maintain accurate sales activity tracking and pipeline management.
- Ensure compliance with brand standards and sales systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred.
- 2–5+ years of hotel sales experience, preferably within a full-service property.
- Experience with Group Sales.
- Strong knowledge of Marriott sales systems, including CI/TY and MARSHA, preferred.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
