Job Description

Crane Nuclear is seeking a Lead Nuclear Sales Manager to define market strategy and drive business development across critical nuclear sectors. The role centers on selling Reuter-Stokes instrumentation and related services to support boiling water reactors, while pursuing growth in advanced reactor markets such as small modular reactors, microreactors, and fusion. This onsite position is based in Twinsburg, Ohio with a compensation of USD 120,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Sell Reuter-Stokes nuclear instrumentation (neutron, gamma, and associated instrumentation) and related products to support boiling water reactors (BWRs) within the assigned geography; drive growth in SMR, microreactor, and fusion markets.
  • Manage sales of highly engineered products and systems requiring deep technical expertise; translate complex value propositions into customer-focused solutions and collaborate closely with engineering and product teams.
  • Cultivate executive-level and working-level relationships across customer organizations; develop strategic partnerships to deliver full-scope project solutions.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, proactively identifying emerging needs, influencing product roadmaps, and collaborating on specifications, licensing considerations, and application requirements.
  • Develop and execute account strategies and long-term growth plans, including pipeline development aligned with multi-year nuclear project cycles.
  • Lead opportunity strategy and capture planning, including win themes, competitive positioning, pricing strategy, and risk mitigation; support proposal development and lead commercial negotiations.
  • Navigate internal governance processes (risk reviews, export compliance, commercial approvals) to secure timely and compliant offer submissions.
  • Drive orders, revenue, and margin performance by generating qualified leads, expanding installed base opportunities, and improving forecast accuracy and book-to-bill performance.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, including regulatory shifts, reactor deployment timelines, funding programs, and competitive dynamics to inform strategy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, engineering, supply chain, field service, and commercial operations to deliver integrated customer solutions and meet growth objectives.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales funnel and CRM discipline, ensuring accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and reporting.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-7 years of sales experience.
  • Demonstrated technical competence and external sales commercial expertise preferred.
  • Extensive oral, written, and presentation communication skills required.
  • Effective interpersonal and leadership skills required.
  • Established influencing and negotiations skills preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, prioritize, and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs and projects preferred.
  • Knowledge of BWR instrumentation.
