Luxury Travel Sales Manager
Job Description
Wild Nectar Collection is building a sustainable luxury travel sales organization in Portland, Oregon. This role is designed for someone who enjoys relationship-based selling and wants to help shape the sales method from the ground up, then lead a Portland-based team as demand grows. You will start with a smaller pre-funding commitment and transition into a full-time sales leadership position focused on direct selling, coaching, process building, and long-term growth.
Location: Portland, OR 97205 (in-person, not remote)
Compensation: USD 70,000 - 85,000 per year (targeted base after funding, plus commission and potential management bonus)
What you’ll do
- Partner closely with the founder to turn Wild Nectar’s relationship-based luxury travel approach into a repeatable sales method.
- Personally sell complex, high-value luxury, adventure, expedition, and custom travel to affluent clients.
- Document and continuously improve the sales process from discovery and qualification through proposal, follow-up, and closing.
- Build the training, tools, templates, standards, and CRM practices future Travel Curators will use.
- As the team grows, recruit, train, and coach a Portland-based sales team of Travel Curators.
- Review pipelines and client interactions, helping Travel Curators become exceptional relationship-based sellers.
- Create and maintain a sales culture rooted in trust, accountability, excellent judgment, and genuine care for travelers and team members.
- Work with Operations to improve booking processes, client handoffs, and the overall traveler experience.
- Help create much of the sales organization you will eventually lead.
What you bring
- Proven ability to sell, including personally selling complex, high-value travel directly to affluent clients (luxury, expedition, adventure, safari, cruise, or custom international travel).
- Strength in building trust: listen beyond the initial request, interpret true traveler intent, guide major decisions, follow up consistently, and close without making the relationship feel transactional.
- A track record of turning your own selling knowledge into a process others can learn.
- Supportive, kind management style with clear accountability and genuine care for people.
- Strong experience managing CRM and sales pipelines.
- Exceptional communication skills in writing and conversation.
- Warm, candid, emotionally intelligent, organized, and dependable working style.
- Comfort building systems and processes that do not yet exist.
- Comfort with technology, including AI-assisted workflows.
- Genuine care for conservation, cultural respect, and the future of travel.
- Ability to work closely with a Portland-based team in person (commuting distance or willingness to relocate).
