Job Description
Motion Recruitment is hiring a Remote Regional Sales Manager to lead sales and marketing execution across the West Coast territory in the EV/AV charging industry. This role owns the full customer sales cycle, from prospecting through deal close, while managing key accounts and channel partners to hit regional growth targets.
Based in Austin, TX (remote), the position emphasizes forecasting discipline, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on leadership of manufacturers rep activity within the assigned region.
What you’ll do
- Prospect, qualify, and close opportunities for the EV/AV charging market.
- Develop new and existing key accounts and maintain relationships that support long-term, sustainable business.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the entire sales cycle.
- Manage key customer relationships and create stable partnerships across various sectors.
- Track and report funnel growth progress using Salesforce.com or a comparable CRM tool.
- Meet or exceed assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual regional sales goals.
- Supervise and evaluate activities of rep firms in the area, providing counsel and guidance as needed.
- Conduct regular monthly channel partner funnel and performance reviews.
- Deliver accurate, timely forecasting that reflects a balanced view of the pipeline.
- Support the development of marketing and sales plans, and collaborate with key stakeholders to improve strategy.
- Build and refine customer-facing proposals, including technical features and economic models with help from subject matter experts.
- Support some level of program management activity for key account and channel partner responsibilities.
- Act as a customer advocate within the organization.
- Analyze data and investigate the complete business situation to guide opportunity assessment.
- Develop and deliver presentations for trade shows and customers.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure other company functions support and integrate with the sales process.
- Travel as needed, with a minimum requirement of 45%.
What you bring
- Minimum 8 years of sales, marketing, or other commercial business experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Experience in a low volume, highly engineered manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Technical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing processes.
- Strong business acumen, effective communication, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.
- Intellectual curiosity about the industry and creative problem solving for opportunity assessment and strategy development.
- Team-oriented approach and ability to build an efficient sales team.
- High energy, drive, enthusiasm, initiative, commitment, and professionalism.
- Strong relationship building, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work as a self-starter both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Superior interpersonal communication (written and verbal), plus strong problem-solving ability.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions with strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to cold call, cold walk-in, and prospect.
- Experience supervising Manufacturers Reps, with Distributors and Manufacturer’s Reps experience required.
