Job Description

The Retail Producing Sales Manager role in Fayetteville, North Carolina, anchors on-site leadership of a Mortgage Loan Originator team within Truist Bank. This position combines personal loan production with strategic team management to drive growth and profitability, executing the Mortgage LOB plans while strengthening internal and external partnerships and delivering a high-quality client experience.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve production goals through personal production as well as effective leadership, recruiting, retention, coaching, and developing a profitable sales team.
  • Lead, communicate, and execute a strategic plan to drive mortgage loan sales, prioritizing superior relationship management with internal and external COIs and coordinating sales activities with Truist partners; actively participate in business development with the MLO team.
  • Ensure adherence to Truist Lending policies and procedures, government regulations, secondary market requirements, and audit and quality control standards.
  • Continuously improve client service quality by modeling the adoption of a digital client experience, leveraging technology, and managing mortgage processes to strengthen relationships with clients, COIs, and Truist teammates.
  • Foster effective partnerships between sales and operations; assist Mortgage Loan Fulfillment with document follow-up as determined through quality control or post-closing review.
  • Stay informed about local real estate market conditions, mortgage product trends, and competitive positioning; provide feedback and solutions regarding mortgage lending delivery capabilities when requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related experience.
  • 5+ years in the mortgage industry or financial services field.
  • Experience managing a team of 4+ Mortgage Loan Originators.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage lending and familiarity with all loan types.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to recruit and retain productive, engaged teammates.
  • Registered and maintains an active Truist-sponsored registration in the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLSR) with a unique identifier in compliance with the federal S.A.F.E. Act requirements.

Other Job Requirements / Working Conditions

  • Sitting frequently (25% - 50% of the time), standing frequently (25% - 50%), and walking frequently (25% - 50%).
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs as needed; bending frequency not specified.
  • Visual, audio, and speaking ability to interpret client information from a computer and communicate with clients in person and by phone.
  • Manual dexterity for standard office equipment use (keyboard, mouse, printers, etc.).
  • Availability to work all scheduled hours, including overtime as directed by management.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time.
