This onsite role leads the hotel sales function, drives new business generation and prospecting, and collaborates with hotel departments to maximize revenue while delivering an exceptional guest experience. Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding guest service to ensure a comfortable stay while meeting team and brand objectives.
- Develop the annual revenue budget, the annual marketing plan, and quarterly sales strategy reports with the General Manager.
- Direct the hotel sales efforts in alignment with the marketing plan.
- Create and manage the sales budget, reviewing it regularly with the General Manager.
- Drive top-line revenue to meet or exceed budget targets.
- Generate leads through cold calls, telemarketing, direct sales, and networking.
- Compile competitive intelligence and reporting.
- Maintain relationships with competitor hotels, lead sources, clients, and the local community.
- Keep sales files accurate and up to date.
- Submit weekly sales reports to the corporate office.
- Create and implement quarterly sales plans.
- Review and utilize Franchise Source sales tools.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and Front Desk on revenue management.
- Conduct regular conference calls with the Revenue Manager.
- Coordinate with the front desk on group business and negotiated accounts.
- Conduct regular site tours.
- Participate in community relations meetings.
- Demonstrate strong time management skills and organizational discipline.
- Understand and apply the Brand service culture across all activities.
Requirements
- Preferred degree in Hotel Management, General Business, or Marketing.
- Two to three years of direct sales and sales management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to interact with management, staff, guests, and the public in a courteous, tactful, and patient manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, phone, and presentation skills.
- Willingness and ability to perform outside direct sales.
- Solid understanding of revenue generation and profit/loss implications.
- Team player with the ability to work with all levels of hotel staff.
- Strong guest relation skills and interpersonal abilities to cultivate customer relationships across diverse backgrounds.
- Self-motivated, hardworking, and capable of working independently with limited supervision.
- Effective negotiation skills and strategic thinking.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Emergency Equipment Manual, including utility and water shutoff equipment, fire alarm systems, and emergency procedures.
