Job Description

The Senior Group Sales Manager at Westin Beach Resort Fort Lauderdale oversees strategic account management and drives new group opportunities to meet or exceed revenue targets across rooms, food and beverage, and room rental on site in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Overview

This role focuses on managing guest satisfaction while actively soliciting both existing and new group business. The objective is to achieve or surpass revenue goals by pursuing opportunities, entertaining clients, and nurturing relationships to maximize performance across all hotel departments involved in group sales.

Responsibilities

  • Coster with new and existing accounts to reach or exceed revenue targets using a mix of telephone outreach, external visits, site inspections, and written correspondence.
  • Generate room, banquet, and room rental revenue through direct pursuit of opportunities, including presentations, contract development, negotiation, and closing.
  • Increase overall hotel revenue by selling all property offerings to past, current, and prospective clients, delivered orally and in writing.
  • Maintain detailed account records to ensure all aspects of solicitation and closing are completed and documented, coordinating cross department involvement in servicing accounts.
  • Deliver persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Prepare materials, meet with, and, when appropriate, entertain clients to foster business opportunities from the account.
  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, to guide hotel departments in delivering high quality service to customers.
  • Draft client correspondence, internal booking reports, and maintain orderly file management.
  • Participate in daily business reviews, pre-convention meetings, training sessions, and other sales-related gatherings as required.
  • Represent the property at trade shows, community events, and industry meetings.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of market trends, competition, and key hotel customers.
  • Adhere to attendance requirements and maintain regular availability.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of prior sales experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a hotel setting is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of market trends, competitors, and key hotel clients.
  • Ability to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate tasks.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with Delphi; advanced sales skills, revenue management, and coaching of peers.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, business plan development, repairs and maintenance, budgeting, quality assurance, hospitality law, and long-range planning.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to adapt communication style to diverse audiences, including supervisors, colleagues, and the public.
