Senior Sales Manager, Retail & Builder Channel
Job Description
The Senior Sales Manager for the Northwest Retail and Builder region oversees 12 market managers and 2 Market Development Representatives from an onsite location in Olympia, WA, with P&L ownership and growth responsibility across retail and contract/builder channels.
Responsibilities
- Direct and mentor a team of 12 market managers and 2 Market Development Representatives
- Own the regional P&L and drive quota attainment for both market managers and MDRs
- Provide strategic input to regional leadership (RSD, BDISR, NBDM) to shape retail and contract/builder strategies
- Execute plans to deliver results, prioritizing quarterly objectives and delivering growth in retail and contract/builder channels
- Lead Ferguson, Whirlpool’s largest ACD, ensuring market managers prospect and close both external contract and inside showroom sales
- Cultivate a high-performance culture to attract and retain top talent within the region
- Promote a transparent, practice-sharing environment with constructive feedback
- Manage the performance process for direct reports, including EPE, objective setting, and quota development
- Drive operational excellence in collaboration with the sales operations team and process partners
- Develop thought leadership with a solutions-driven, continuous improvement mindset
- Steer continuous improvement initiatives that deliver regional operational enhancements
- Foster strong relationships with senior peers and NBDM teams to enable collaboration and learning
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5+ years of strategic selling and negotiating in the home appliance marketplace

The Team You Will Be A Part Of
The Retail & Builder channel at Whirlpool Management oversees more than $4B in business across independent retail, contract builders, and distributors. In the Northwest Region, which covers Oregon and Washington, the team comprises 13 Market Managers, 2 Top Account sales managers, 2 Market Development Representatives, and 2 New Business Development Managers, delivering around 550k units and approximately $450M in annual net sales.
