Job Description

The Milwaukee onsite Stormwater and Business Development Engineer leads stormwater projects, mentors staff in hydraulic modeling, and supports proposals and business development with the VP, Engineering Services.

Responsibilities

  • Understand each project's background, site location, and any issues or project politics
  • Mentor staff in hydraulic modeling and grow team capacity in that area
  • Identify the right team members for each project component and delegate tasks
  • Perform design and engineering work for assigned projects
  • Establish and adhere to milestone dates to meet scope deadlines
  • Serve as Designer or Checker within the Quality Control Program
  • Provide project updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Update the project budget for monthly invoicing
  • Evaluate project status relative to completed work
  • Inform Project Manager of budget slips, scope creep, or schedule issues
  • Maintain project change and issue logs
  • Prospect for new clients and projects
  • Prepare proposals
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for new clients
  • Assist in developing or refining the marketing plan and strategies
  • Support social networking, public outreach, and related efforts as requested
  • Address problems through the appropriate chain of command
  • Demonstrate the organization’s mission, vision, and core values through conduct and communication
  • Maintain positive working relationships and foster a cooperative environment
  • Communicate honestly and respectfully with peers and other departments
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the role as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering field
  • 8+ years of project management and engineering experience
  • P.E. license

Compensation

  • Salary: USD 80,000 - 85,000 per year

Where You Fit In

  • The role reports to the VP, Engineering Services
  • The VP provides advising, training, project brainstorming, and other project support
  • The engineer manages each project, delegates to Project Engineers or Interns as appropriate
  • All deliverables must be checked for quality and approved by the EVP by end of business day
