Area Sales Director, Chronic Therapies
Job Description
Option Care Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an Area Sales Director for Chronic Therapies to lead the regional sales, marketing, and business development efforts across a defined geography. This onsite leadership role in Columbus, Ohio, collaborates with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to drive growth in chronic therapy services, with a salary range of USD 145,568–242,591 per year.
Responsibilities
- Achieve all regional sales performance and activity goals by therapy for the assigned geography.
- Train, coach, develop, and supervise the chronic therapies sales team.
- Develop and implement the chronic therapies sales plan for the area.
- Plan, forecast, and allocate area resources including staffing, budget, and key initiatives.
- Participate as an active member of the chronic business sales leadership team and cross-functional groups to provide field perspective.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard the chronic therapies sales team within the area of responsibility.
- Maintain high visibility with the regional sales team through field days and attendance at regional meetings or conferences.
- Foster team spirit and enthusiasm to maximize impact on chronic sales through effective communication.
- Enhance sales presentations and lead by example with a track record of creating new business.
- Collaborate with Market Access to identify and implement Area pull-through opportunities.
- Partner with Operations to build strong relationships with branch management and align sales efforts with branch capabilities.
- Coordinate with acute therapies sales leaders to pursue a synergistic customer approach.
- Identify Key Opinion Leaders within the area and develop relationships to leverage their influence.
- Create partnerships with targeted physician group practices.
- Lead recruitment and management of Advisory Board Members within the area.
- Work cross-functionally to implement the Ambulatory Infusion Suite strategy regionally.
- Establish relationships with Professional Medical Societies in the area and develop strategies to drive results.
- Develop relationships with targeted Patient Advocacy groups to increase business outcomes.
- Monitor area trends across industry, market, competition, and sales to refine plans and maximize opportunities.
- Provide expert knowledge of local market dynamics and the complex disease states served by Option Care Health services.
- Contribute input to the chronic therapies field sales team compensation plan.
- Monitor and manage sales activity to maintain focus on priority offices and accounts.
- Ensure all area employees comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years in-office physician sales leadership experience and a proven track record; or a high school diploma with at least 6 years of in-office physician sales leadership experience and a proven track record.
- Results-oriented with strong coaching and people development skills.
- Ability to lead, manage, and grow a high-volume, high-dollar business.
- Motivation and leadership skills that foster a positive environment and drive team success.
- Expertise in analyzing sales data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions and implement improvements.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate effectively.
- Experience building long-standing relationships with high-potential accounts and key opinion leaders.
- Understanding of financials and P&L management.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening successfully.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Yes, this position includes supervisory duties such as hiring, promotion decisions, scheduling, performance reviews, and related personnel actions.
Travel Requirements
- Willing to travel at least 60% of the time for business purposes, within state and out of state.
Preferred Qualifications & Interests
- MBA in Business Administration with at least 10 years of pharmaceutical or healthcare sales experience.
- Previous home healthcare experience.
- Participation in task forces or initiative teams demonstrating impact beyond immediate span of control.
- Background in selling to Neurology, Gastroenterology, or Allergy/Immunology specialties.
- Understanding of billing and reimbursement procedures for medical offices and hospitals, including Commercial Insurance, Medicare Part B & D, Fee-for-Service Medicaid, and Managed Medicaid.
