Job Description
Hotstart Inc is seeking a Business Development Manager to grow the Industrial and Heavy-Duty markets, with hybrid work in Houston, TX and travel to Spokane HQ, clients, and industry events.
Overview
- Location: Houston, TX (hybrid). Remote-friendly with travel to Spokane HQ, clients, and industry events.
- Work location: Hybrid remote in Spokane Valley, WA 99212.
- Travel expectation: Approximately 40 to 60% travel within the assigned market sector.
Responsibilities
- Generate new revenue by actively prospecting, meeting customers in person, and scheduling sales appointments to surpass targets.
- Assess potential new product development opportunities and introduce them to current and new customer segments.
- Represent Hotstart at conferences and trade events, actively generating leads and opportunities.
- Prospect for opportunities through networking, relationship-building, and expanding the customer base in the assigned markets.
- Identify customer needs and clearly present Hotstart solutions to improve the customer experience.
- Lead OEM specification system release projects, ensuring successful execution and outcomes.
- Monitor competitor activity and respond strategically to stay ahead of rivals.
- Collaborate with Sales Directors, Account Managers, Product Management, and Senior Sales Support to shape pricing and deliver competitive proposals.
- Coordinate activities via the Team Calendar to maintain visibility and accountability.
- Work with Marketing to optimize impact and return on investment at major industry trade shows.
- Collaborate on process improvements and ongoing team enhancements.
- Conduct weekly review and prioritization of business opportunities.
- Assist Product Management with product lifecycle reviews and manage active part numbers.
- Stay informed about customer announcements, technical developments, and industry trends.
- Track new product development projects and their relevance to the Power Generation market.
- Use the CRM Business Activity Module for tracking and reporting.
Requirements
- Proven track record in sales and account management with solid negotiation abilities.
- Experience with thermal management products, systems, or related industries is advantageous.
- Established connections within Engine, Power Generation, Machinery, and Marine OEMs are highly desirable.
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and enthusiasm.
- Strong communication skills with experience in cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Power BI.
- Experience with INFOR, IFS, and MRP systems is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years in customer account management or related sales work.
