Electrical Services Manager with Expertise in Business Development

Job Description

The Electrical Services Manager leading our Fort Myers operations drives service performance, financial results, and growth initiatives for InPwr's electrical design-build offerings, reporting onsite in Fort Myers, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees financial performance while ensuring planning and layout work are applied to eligible jobs, identifies risks and hurdles, and allocates essential resources to minimize financial slippage.
  • Manages the service technician gainshare payouts and oversees van stock organization, procurement tracking, and material availability.
  • Identifies issues early and communicates with stakeholders to protect installation quality and financial interests.
  • Schedules and conducts post-mortem reviews on projects with margin deviations of +/- 5 to 10 percent to prevent recurrence and foster repeatable best practices.
  • Reviews weekly work orders for each technician and client to identify trends in installation and overall satisfaction.
  • Reviews and approves submittals with the account manager before requesting client approval.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by soliciting feedback from service customers and maintaining presence at constant sites.
  • Coordinates communication with customers and technicians to schedule jobs and ensure site compliance.
  • Ensures project scheduling aligns with the customer's time goals and assists with design-build activities when required by customers.
  • Provides accurate information to support proper project initiation and close-out.
  • Ensures all permits, licenses, and inspections are filed as required.
  • Plans weekly activities for all assigned personnel and identifies material requirements, working with procurement to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Assist on-site personnel with problem resolution as needed and prepare project status reports or schedules when applicable.
  • Prices, submits change orders to the owner, and expedites their processing; ensures timely completion of punch list items and accurate as-built drawings when applicable.
  • Responds promptly to employee concerns and verifies the accuracy of field reports before data entry.
  • Attends job meetings on projects as required and supports general business development activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with an additional two years of technical training preferred, or a Construction Management degree.
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in a senior technician role with prior field experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and the NEC, with an electrical estimating background.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related computer skills.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and perform under pressure.
  • Experience managing and scheduling multiple service technicians and projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication along with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with the Fort Myers, Florida area and the ability to generate new business quickly.

Working Conditions

  • This role operates partly in an office environment but requires regular visits to construction sites.
  • Work may take place in all elements depending on location and season, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
  • Use of construction site facilities such as Porta-Johns is required.
  • Personal protective equipment such as hard hat and safety glasses must be worn at all times, with respirators as needed.
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers is expected.
  • Schedule includes 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, with overtime and potential night shifts.
  • Work may involve both indoor and outdoor environments.

Working / Environment / Physical Demands

This position is primarily stationary and requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, and adequate vision (including color vision) with the ability to adjust focus. The role may require occasional lifting up to 15 pounds. Candidates must be capable of conducting site visits to provide estimates and perform essential duties.
