Job Description

Geist Consulting LLC is seeking an independent-contractor Healthcare Technology Business Development Consultant to support its Medical Practice Solutions Division (MPSD). In the Chattanooga, TN market, you will build physician-practice relationships through in-person outreach, introduce approved healthcare technologies, and progress qualified opportunities toward technology-partner presentations.

This role is contract-based and designed to offer meaningful scheduling flexibility while maintaining clear territory, communication, reporting, coaching, and compliance expectations.

What You’ll Do

  • Complete professional in-person visits with assigned physician practices and smaller medical groups.
  • Develop relationships with physicians, practice administrators, office managers, and other appropriate decision-makers.
  • Introduce approved Geist-supported healthcare technologies and identify potential interest.
  • Move qualified opportunities forward toward technology-partner presentations.
  • Maintain professional, persistent follow-up as opportunities develop.
  • Keep prospect, opportunity, and account reporting timely and accurate.
  • Attend scheduled coaching, pipeline review, and Consultant meetings.
  • Communicate consistently with Geist management regarding opportunities, territory progress, questions, and challenges.
  • Follow approved requirements for healthcare compliance, privacy, marketing, and professional conduct.

Independent-Contractor Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to enter into an independent-contractor agreement with Geist Consulting LLC.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and appropriate automobile insurance.
  • Commit approximately 10 hours per week initially, including about five hours during normal business hours.
  • Successfully complete onboarding, training, compliance, and field-readiness requirements before independent field work.
  • Maintain professional conduct, reliable communication, accurate reporting, and compliance with Geist Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Comfortable communicating with physicians, practice administrators, and business decision-makers.
  • Able to work independently while following an established process.
  • Organized with the ability to manage multiple active relationships and follow-up schedules.
  • Coachable and willing to follow established Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Comfortable with common Google Workspace tools and online reporting systems.
  • Willingness to conduct in-person field development.
  • Ability to work with healthcare decision-makers in an energetic, positive environment.

Training and Field Readiness

  • Geist provides structured onboarding and training before you independently enter the field.
  • New Consultants complete company onboarding, business-development and healthcare-technology training, compliance preparation, and field-readiness activities, followed by supported initial field activity.
  • Before independent field authorization, Consultants must successfully complete applicable HIPAA, healthcare compliance, training, and field-readiness requirements.

Compensation and Schedule

  • This is a 1099 independent-contractor role.
  • Commission-only / performance-based opportunity with no base salary, hourly wage, draw, retainer, or guaranteed minimum income.
  • Modeled Year 3 annual compensation is approximately $83,000–$95,000.
  • As a Consultant’s portfolio matures, the compensation model can become highly competitive within the healthcare business development industry.
  • Work location is on the road.
  • Consultants generally organize their schedules while meeting territory, communication, reporting, meeting, compliance, and performance expectations.
  • Initial minimum commitment is 10 hours per week, with the option to dedicate 20 hours if desired.
