Job Description

GEHA is seeking a Field Sales Manager based in Washington, DC (remote) to lead engagement efforts with government benefits professionals across federal agencies. In this role, you will help expand the database and generate qualified sales leads by representing GEHA in the field, delivering tailored presentations, and tracking measurable engagement outcomes.

As the Regional Sales Manager for the East Coast, you will act as a regional expert and advocate for GEHA’s mission and services, partnering closely with internal sales and marketing teams to support regional goals and continuously improve the sales management process.

Role Summary

  • Drive engagement with federal agency benefits officers and HR professionals to promote GEHA offerings.
  • Represent the organization at local agency events, health fairs, and virtual sessions to generate member engagement and qualified leads.
  • Deliver presentations and product overviews tailored to federal audiences.
  • Track engagement metrics, lead conversion, and event ROI to inform regional strategy.
  • Provide regular updates and reporting to management based on contractor activities, expenses, and performance metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with federal agency benefits officers and HR professionals to support outreach and promotion of GEHA offerings.
  • Represent GEHA at local agency events, health fairs, and virtual sessions to drive member engagement and lead generation.
  • Collaborate with internal sales and marketing teams to align outreach strategies with regional goals.
  • Identify and attend high-impact events that support federal employee health and wellness education.
  • Deliver compelling presentations and product overviews tailored to federal audiences.
  • Track engagement metrics, lead conversion, and event ROI to guide future strategy.
  • Stay informed on federal benefits trends, agency needs, and the competitive landscape.
  • Serve as a regional expert and advocate for GEHA’s mission and services.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency enhancements, and resource optimization within the sales management process.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to contractor activities, expenses, and performance metrics, providing regular updates and reports to management as required.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to field sales, incorporating insights and recommendations into program enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field; additional years of qualifying relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in event coordination, sales management, or related roles, preferably within the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods industries.
  • Strong people skills to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including federal workers, vendors, and internal team members.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Proven project management skills to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate resources to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to accuracy and precision in documentation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, and other relevant tools for communication, collaboration, and data management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a collaborative environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, business needs, and market dynamics, with an initiative-taking approach.
  • Willingness to travel often to attend meetings, training sessions, and events as needed.

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • Ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable modems for a home office.
  • Minimum standard speed for optimal performance: 30x5 (30mpbs download x 5mpbs upload).
  • Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 ms.
  • Hotspots, satellite and wireless internet service are not allowed for this role.
  • Dedicated space with no ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Compensation

  • Target hiring range: $81,755 - $103,425 USD (yearly)
  • GEHA maximum salary for this role: $115,245 USD
