Job Description
The onsite Area Sales Manager role in Lansing, MI supports Altenloh Brinck & Co US Inc by driving SPAX market share growth in an assigned territory. The position centers on new business development, strengthening distribution partnerships, and increasing contractor adoption through professional construction channels, with a focus on field-based engagement and product advocacy.
Responsibilities
- Expand territory growth through new business development and broader channel engagement
- Establish durable partnerships with dealers, distributors, and contractors to accelerate product adoption
- Implement field activation plans including on-site demonstrations, product training, and dealer engagement events
- Identify market opportunities and convert insights into actionable growth initiatives
- Enhance SPAX brand visibility and competitive positioning within the professional construction channel
- Provide timely market intelligence to sales leadership, marketing, and product teams
- Develop and execute a territory growth strategy aligned with company sales objectives
- Identify and pursue opportunities with new dealers, distributors, and contractors
- Broaden SPAX brand presence across lumberyards, STAFDA members, building product distributors, and professional building channels
- Cultivate long-term relationships with owners, branch managers, outside sales representatives, and counter teams
- Drive profitable sales growth and increase product penetration across assigned markets
- Strengthen stocking positions with distributors and dealers through relationship management and value selling
- Convert contractors and end users through product demonstrations, training, and on-site engagement
- Support distributor and dealer partners with sales enablement, product education, and field support
- Conduct jobsite demonstrations and product training sessions
- Serve as a SPAX brand ambassador by communicating product performance advantages and installation benefits
- Support regional promotions, product launches, and marketing initiatives
- Participate in trade shows, industry events, and contractor engagement activities
- Provide feedback on pricing, competitive activity, product needs, and emerging market trends
- Analyze territory performance and identify opportunities to improve market penetration
- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to refine strategies based on market insights
- Maintain accurate CRM data including pipeline activity, customer engagement, and forecasting
- Collaborate with Inside Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Operations to ensure alignment and execution
- Deliver regular updates on territory performance, growth initiatives, and market opportunities
- Support company initiatives that strengthen channel partnerships and drive long-term market growth
