Job Description

Based in Columbus, Ohio, the Area Sales Manager role centers on expanding SPAX market share across the assigned territory by pursuing new business, reinforcing dealer and distributor partnerships, and driving field activation and product advocacy in professional construction channels. You will prioritize territory development, revenue growth, and the creation of a durable, long-term channel network to support SPAX, TRUFAST, and TRUF brands.

Responsibilities

  • Expand the territory by pursuing new opportunities and broadening engagement with distribution and channel partners
  • Develop durable relationships with dealers, distributors, and contractors to boost SPAX product adoption
  • Implement field activation plans such as on-site demonstrations, training sessions, and dealer events
  • Identify market opportunities and convert insights into concrete growth initiatives
  • Strengthen SPAX brand visibility and competitive stance in professional construction channels
  • Share timely market intelligence with sales leadership, marketing, and product teams
  • Develop and implement a territory growth plan aligned with sales goals
  • Identify and pursue opportunities with new dealers, distributors, and contractors
  • Expand SPAX brand presence in lumberyards, STAFDA networks, building product distributors, and professional building channels
  • Build enduring relationships with owners, branch managers, outside sales reps, and counter staff
  • Drive profitable growth and expand product penetration across the territory
  • Strengthen distributor and dealer stocking levels through relationship management and value-based selling
  • Convert contractors and end users via on-site demonstrations, training, and engagement
  • Provide sales enablement, product education, and field support to distributor and dealer partners
  • Conduct on-site demonstrations and product training sessions
  • Represent SPAX by communicating performance advantages and installation benefits to customers
  • Support regional promotions, product launches, and marketing initiatives
  • Participate in trade shows, industry events, and contractor engagement activities
  • Provide feedback on pricing, competitors, product needs, and emerging market trends
  • Analyze territory performance to identify opportunities to increase market penetration
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to refine strategies based on market insights
  • Maintain precise CRM data on pipeline activity, customer engagement, and forecasting
  • Work with Inside Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Operations to ensure alignment and execution
  • Provide regular updates on territory performance, growth initiatives, and market opportunities
  • Support initiatives that strengthen channel partnerships and sustain long-term market growth
  • This is a field-based position requiring regular travel throughout the territory, including jobsite visits, distributor branches, customer meetings, and industry events; travel typically ranges from 60-75 percent
