Join Academy Bank as a Business Development Manager in Prairie Village, KS. Responsibilities
- Develop, measure, manage, and set sales strategy aligned to daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeted goals
- Generate the majority of new business for the banking center through self-sourced leads
- During the first year and as needed, follow leads from targeted marketing campaigns
- Collaborate with marketing and other retail teams to coordinate campaigns and sales activities; advise on focus areas and strategies
- Reach specified annual goals, including establishing a minimum of 12 COI connections
- Actively connect with target client groups and participate in civic leadership programs, local Chambers of Commerce, and local high-impact not-for-profit organizations
- Spend at least 80 percent of time in outside sales, marketing bank products to target clients outside the banking center; interview clients, explain financial services, take loan applications, quote rates, close loans, and cross-sell new products
- Maintain a minimum of 15 pre-set sales calls and 20 other sales activities per week
- Model, train, and recruit for a fast, easy, and personal client experience consistent with company standards
- Ensure banking center procedures support profitable and secure operations
- Delegate operations related to security, including video cameras and access controls
- Uphold a safe work environment and address hazardous conditions; maintain premises and compliance postings
- Maintain a comfortable space for associates to conduct banking business
- Know, follow, and enforce all bank policies, procedures, and applicable laws
- Promote an ethical environment by modeling integrity and requiring ethical behavior
- Supervise approximately two associates, including interviewing, hiring, coaching, scheduling, counseling, training, and delivering performance evaluations
- Prepare and deliver discipline when needed; conduct regular meetings and provide feedback to support career development and promotions
- Ensure satisfactory audit outcomes from Compliance, Internal Audit, Deposit Operations, and other bodies
- Protect client and bank information and adhere to company policies
- Articulate and embody the company mission, vision, and Pillars of Success
- Complete monthly training to maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures
- Work onsite during regular business hours and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 5+ years of outside sales experience
- 2+ years of management/supervisory experience
- Travel within the local region is required
- If transporting oneself, a valid driver’s license in the state of residence is required
- Ability to be NMLS licensed and registered
- Financial services aptitude
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with common computer programs (Windows, MS Office, email, etc.)
- Proven track record of business development
- Minimum of 2 years of experience

Physical Requirements
The work environment is typical of a standard office or retail banking setting. The role involves frequent periods of sitting and standing, with movement within the workspace to access entrances, restrooms, conference rooms, and other areas.
