Job Description

Morgan Hunter Companies is expanding its transportation and logistics practice and seeks a National B2B Business Development Executive to operate onsite in Overland Park, Kansas. The role centers on cultivating shipper relationships that require flatbed or specialized transportation, growing a freight book for flatbed and open-deck moves, and forging new partnerships as an independent contributor with strong six-figure earning potential. The position offers a base salary range of USD 50,000 to 75,000 per year, plus commission and meaningful upside for top performers.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate new shipper relationships for flatbed or specialized transportation needs.
  • Develop a portfolio of freight customers and increase recurring shipment volume.
  • Collaborate with operations and dispatch to ensure smooth freight movements and keep clients informed.
  • Negotiate pricing and transportation solutions with clients.
  • Maintain ongoing client engagement so you are the first call when equipment moves are needed.
  • Build long-term shipper relationships rather than pursuing one-off loads.

Requirements

  • Background as a freight brokerage sales professional.
  • Experience selling truckload or flatbed transportation solutions.
  • Logistics account executives who manage shipper relationships.
  • Sales professionals who have built a freight book rather than solely handling inbound freight.
  • Natural relationship builders who are comfortable starting conversations with new prospects.
  • Curiosity about how complex freight moves through the supply chain.
  • Competitive mindset with a focus on growing a revenue book.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both customers and operations teams.
  • Desire to develop into a true six-figure sales career.
  • Experience with heavy crane companies.
  • Background in data center construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with wind turbine installation and maintenance companies.
  • Exposure to industrial HVAC or mechanical equipment providers.
  • Experience with large-scale construction equipment operations.
  • Familiarity with crane operators.
  • Experience with truck drivers hauling heavy equipment.
  • Background as field supervisors on industrial projects.
  • Experience with operations professionals coordinating equipment transportation.

Compensation

  • Guaranteed solid base salary plus commission with strong upside for top performers.
  • High achievers who build a meaningful freight book typically reach six-figure income territory.
