Regional Sales Manager
Job Description
Trex, the world’s leading sustainability made decking and outdoor living brand, is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to shape the regional strategy, lead the field team, and manage distributor relationships in the Central Region from our Chicago, IL onsite location. Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the regional sales team, providing coaching and ongoing professional growth
- Serve as the primary contact with key distributor locations within the regional remit, maintaining an established call cadence
- Build and nurture strong business relationships with distributor contacts at each branch in the region
- Recruit, hire, and train new Regional Sales team members; establish annual development plans with direct reports
- Develop and execute the annual regional business plan with clear objectives for every team member
- Focus activity on pull-through and sales pipeline development to meet regional targets
- Manage travel and expenses for the region within budget; oversee co-op funding for distributors and Business Development Funds to support strategic initiatives
- Participate in the sales forecasting process and contribute to regional planning with leadership
- Develop and leverage key geographic contacts for National Account customers and regional contacts from Lowe's and Home Depot
- Ensure safety is prioritized in all activities
- Oversee performance and ongoing development for a team of District Managers, Account Managers, and Sales Representatives
Requirements
- 4-year degree required
- 10+ years of sales experience with a track record of outstanding results
- Three years of key account responsibility
- Three years of successful people management experience
- Previous experience as a District Sales Manager or Account Manager
Travel and location
- Approximately 75% overnight travel
- Valid driver’s license required
- Job location: Central Region, USA, onsite in Chicago, IL
Compensation
Base salary range is $130,000 to $150,000 annually. The role may include additional compensation through an annual or sales bonus. The stated range serves as a guideline for potential total compensation.
