Job Description
Located onsite in Atlanta, this leadership role oversees a Retail Mortgage Sales team at Truist Bank. The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving production growth, coaching a high-performing staff, and cultivating relationships with mortgage loan officers and referral partners to source loan opportunities across the market.
Responsibilities
- Lead area production growth through effective leadership, recruiting, retention, coaching, and developing a profitable sales team.
- Understand and communicate Mortgage Lending strategy, policies, and procedures to customers, teammates, internal and external referral sources, and the area managed.
- Execute area strategic direction by pursuing new business development, deepening existing relationships, growing market share, and driving integrated relationship management; lead inclusive and affordable housing lending initiatives to serve low-to-moderate markets.
- Improve client service quality by guiding the team’s adoption of digital client experience, technology, and efficient mortgage processes to strengthen relationships with clients, COIs, and Truist teammates.
- Note that while the ASM can speak to clients for customer service, they cannot take applications, offer, arrange, or assist a consumer in applying; cannot negotiate terms or extend credit; and cannot advertise publicly that they can perform these activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related experience.
- 3+ years mortgage industry experience.
- 2+ years managerial experience.
- Strong understanding of mortgage lending and product lines; effective management of internal and external relationships and partnerships.
- Ability to manage producing sales managers and MLOs, coordinate fulfillment productivity with operations teammates, and sustain internal and external referral sources.
- Proven ability to recruit and retain productive, engaged teammates.
- Registered and maintains an active Truist sponsored registration in the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLSR) with a unique identifier number in compliance with the federal S.A.F.E. act requirements.
