Job Description
Sales Manager 2 position at Marriott International, onsite in Bethesda, MD, offering USD 30 - 38 per hour and requiring an Associate's degree.
Responsibilities
- Respond to group inquiries and lead requests within established Group Sales parameters, covering Full Service and MSB with 10-99 peak room nights.
- Partner with clients to align preferences with brand standards and actively upsell each opportunity to maximize revenue and loyalty.
- Ensure timely turnover of business to the appropriate team to support quality service delivery.
- Drive customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout the client journey.
- Prepare business correspondence and draft contracts and related booking documents as required.
- Demonstrate robust selling skills and clear communication, with solid knowledge of property operations, food and beverage, and planning.
- Respond promptly to incoming group or catering opportunities that fall within predefined parameters.
- Refer opportunities outside the parameters to the appropriate sales associate.
- Collaborate with other sales channels to ensure coordinated, complementary, and non-duplicative sales efforts.
- Understand market dynamics, including competitors, economic trends, and supply and demand, and tailor selling strategies accordingly.
- Verify that booked business aligns with hotel parameters.
- Close opportunities that best fit property needs given current market conditions.
- Execute and support the operational aspects of booked business, including proposals, contracts, and customer correspondence.
- Transfer accurate, complete, and timely information to the property in line with brand standards.
- Understand and actively utilize company marketing initiatives and incentives to close on business.
- Implement process improvements and best practices.
- Leverage other Group Sales resources and administrative support to achieve personal and team revenue goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
- Establish coordinated sales efforts that are complementary and not duplicative.
- Drive customer loyalty through excellent service throughout the sales process.
- Serve the customer by understanding their needs and recommending features and services that best meet them.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.

- Effectively resolve guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process.
- Bring issues to the attention of Property and Group Sales leadership teams as appropriate.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and at least two years of experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or a related professional area.
- Associate degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major; no additional work experience required.

Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or GED with at least two years of experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related area.
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; no work experience required.
- Two years of experience selling group business, either at a property or in a sales office.
- Knowledge of property operations and Food and Beverage (F&B).
- Knowledge of the group sales process across brands and how to close a sale.
- Team-based selling experience.
- Hospitality Management degree is preferred.
Managing Sales Activities
