Job Description
This role leads a nationwide team of Outside Sales Representatives supporting technical government sales, driving profitable growth while coaching reps and blending hands-on selling with team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Outside Sales Representatives through supervision, mentorship, training, and performance evaluations.
- Assess weekly productivity, current pipeline, and performance metrics; conduct bi monthly performance reviews.
- Advise on deal strategy, contract routing, scope development, and pricing structures.
- Collaborate with inside sales and adjacent team leads to align priorities and facilitate coordinated efforts.
- Enforce adherence to company policies, timekeeping, and performance standards.
- Lead regular team meetings to share updates, deliver training, and implement process improvements.
- Execute core outside sales activities, including needs assessments, generating quotes, relationship management, and CRM usage.
- Perform technical site visits to assess customer applications and identify opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry partners, vendors, and suppliers.
- Prospect for new business opportunities and develop the sales pipeline across assigned regions.
- Represent EST at trade shows and networking events, both in person and online, to promote products and services.
- Monitor CRM data accuracy, project information, pricing, and scope quality across the team.
- Evaluate each team member’s book of business and guide engagement, vendor coordination, and pipeline throughput.
- Work with the Sales Manager to identify opportunities for product and service growth.
- Manage assigned company property, including vehicles and computers, responsibly.
- Travel extensively across the United States to support customers, teammates, and business development initiatives.
