Steel Wire Products Sales Development Manager

Archer Wire International Corporation offers a hybrid Chicago based role focused on growing the customer base for steel wire products. The position features a USD 70,000 to 100,000 annual base salary plus commission, along with a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) with matching, health, dental, and vision insurance, and paid time off. You will travel about 1 to 3 days per week to engage OEMs and industrial customers, operating in a cross functional, technically driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage relationships with OEMs, Tier suppliers, and industrial manufacturers
• Identify new business opportunities in steel wire fabricating and manufacturing markets
• Collaborate with customers’ engineering and design teams to recommend optimal designs
• Review drawings, specs, and RFQs to ensure manufacturability and alignment with capabilities
• Prepare and present technical proposals, quotes, and cost breakdowns
• Serve as the liaison between customers and internal teams including engineering, production, and quality
• Support new product launches, sampling, and validation processes
• Track market trends, competitor activity, and emerging finishing technologies
• Maintain CRM pipeline and meet sales targets

Requirements

• 3–7+ years in manufacturing related sales
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Experience working with OEM programs and production environments
• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem solving skills
• Background in appliance, food service, HVAC, medical, industrial components, or all OEM businesses
• Technical aptitude with a consultative sales approach
• Ability to translate complex processes into clear customer value
• Strong project management and follow through
• Self motivated with a hunter mentality for new business
