Job Description
Option Care Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an Area Sales Director to lead chronic therapies growth from an on-site base in Indianapolis. This leadership role combines sales strategy, field execution, and cross-functional collaboration to expand patient access, strengthen service quality, and drive region-wide performance. The position develops and implements the regional chronic therapies sales plan while partnering with Market Access, Operations, and other teams to optimize outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed all sales performance and activity targets for the assigned therapies within the geographic area.
- Coach, train, develop, and supervise the chronic therapies sales team.
- Design and drive the implementation of the chronic therapies sales plan.
- Forecast and allocate area resources, including staffing, budget, and key initiatives.
- Serve as an active member of the chronic business sales leadership team and related cross-functional groups to provide a field perspective.
- Lead recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of the chronic therapies sales team in the region.
- Maintain high visibility with the sales team through field days and attendance at regional meetings and conferences.
- Foster team spirit and enthusiasm, using clear verbal and written communication to maximize impact on chronic sales.
- Enhance the sales presentations of the chronic therapies team and demonstrate success in creating new business.
- Collaborate with the Market Access team to identify and pursue area pull-through opportunities.
- Partner with Operations to build strong relationships with branch management and align sales with branch capabilities.
- Work with acute therapies leadership to ensure a synergistic customer approach.
- Identify Key Opinion Leaders within the area and cultivate relationships to leverage their influence strategically.
- Develop partnerships with targeted physician group practices and lead recruitment and management of Advisory Board Members in the area.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to implement the Ambulatory Infusion Suite strategy in the territory.
- Establish relationships with Professional Medical Societies and develop strategies to drive business results.
- Identify opportunities and build relationships with targeted Patient Advocacy groups to enhance outcomes.
- Monitor regional trends in industry, market, competitor activity, and sales to shape effective plans and address market issues.
- Maintain expert knowledge of local market dynamics and the complex disease states served by Option Care Health services.
- Provide input on the chronic therapies field sales team compensation plan.
- Oversee sales activity to ensure focus on priority offices and accounts.
- Ensure compliance with all Option Care Health policies, procedures, and guidelines across the area.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of recent in office-based physician sales leadership experience and a proven track record.
- Or a high school diploma with at least 6 years of recent in office-based physician sales leadership experience and a proven track record.
- Results-oriented mindset with strong coaching and development skills.
- Ability to lead, manage, and grow a high-volume, high-dollar business.
- Motivation and leadership capabilities that foster a positive environment that challenges the team to achieve success.
- Expertise in analyzing sales data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions and drive improvements.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively.
- Experience building long-standing relationships with high-potential accounts and key opinion leaders.
- Understanding of financials and P&L management.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Willingness to travel at least 60 percent of the time for business (within state and out of state).
