Business Development - Sales Territory Representative

SMS offers an outside sales opportunity in the Salem, OR territory with a clear focus on helping small and medium sized business owners move forward with a Business Analysts a Survey Agreement. This is a commission-only role designed around performance, with residual income and daily cash bonuses. First-year earnings of $100K to $110K are realistic, with the potential for high six-figure commissions.

You’ll benefit from restricted territory and pre-set appointments, plus comprehensive new hire and ongoing training and development. Full benefits are available after 60 days, and 401(k) is available after 1 year. This full-time role is based on the road.

Responsibilities

• Review appointments scheduled by your assistant the day prior and prepare for local travel.
• Run 3 to 4 sales appointments per day with owners of small to medium sized businesses, with the goal of marketing and securing Business Analysts a Survey Agreement.
• Provide feedback to the Business Coordinator after each round of meetings and share new lead opportunities.
• Discuss daily successes and challenges with your Sales Manager to receive sales support as needed, supported by an administrative team invested in your outcomes.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of business ownership experience and/or 3 years of face-to-face direct sales experience.
• High school or equivalent (required). A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
• Highly self-motivated and self-disciplined, able to work effectively with little or no supervision.
• Outgoing approach with strength in relationship-building, especially with business owners, presidents, and CEOs.
• Strong communication and listening skills, with the ability to identify the real “pain” a client may be experiencing.
• Ability to begin work immediately.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $100,000 to $110,000 per year (realistic first-year earnings; commission-only structure).
