Job Description

WaterFurnace International seeks a full-time Consumer Sales Development Representative to engage inbound consumer inquiries, qualify prospects for local installer proposals, educate buyers on renewable energy offerings, and support lead generation in a hybrid work setting.

Job Overview

The Consumer Sales Development Representative (SDR) primarily connects with inbound consumer prospects who request contact by phone, text, chat, virtual meetings, or email to qualify them for proposals from local installers. The SDR serves as a trusted resource, answering questions, assessing needs, communicating product benefits, and providing recommendations to help buyers explore renewable energy options.

Responsibilities

  • Interview and determine each prospect’s needs through conversation
  • Educate potential buyers on the unique benefits our renewable energy products can provide
  • Become a trusted resource and develop relationships with prospects, local dealers, and Territory Managers
  • Successfully manage and overcome common objections
  • Update lead statuses and prospect interactions in Salesforce to ensure efficient lead management
  • Provide closed-loop feedback to support continuous process optimization and enhance lead generation programs
  • Evaluate the progress and status of the Consumer Prospect and determine the optimal handoff to Dealers
  • Work in a high-energy, collaborative environment across consumer, sales, and marketing teams
  • Some light travel required up to 5 percent of the time

Requirements

  • Clear and persuasive communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A true self-starter with drive to succeed
  • Aptitude for learning and the ability to become a subject matter expert quickly
  • A team player with a positive attitude in the face of challenges or rejection
  • A people-person who enjoys helping others solve problems
  • Comfort with new technologies and tools
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational abilities
  • Comfortable performing against metrics and goals
  • Sales training is a plus, with Sandler as a preferred method
  • Experience in Inside Sales, with an SDR team, or customer support is preferred
  • Experience with geothermal heat pumps and/or HVAC is a significant plus
  • Salesforce CRM experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or communications (or equivalent experience)

Employment Details

Status: Full-time

Location: Hybrid work in Fort Wayne, IN 46809

This position will be full-time at headquarters until the training period is completed, after which it may transition to a hybrid arrangement.
