District Sales Manager
Job Description
The District Sales Manager oversees district sales activities, mentors Sales Consultants, and collaborates with the Senior Sales Leader to grow revenue from both existing and new clients while maintaining high levels of customer service. The role is based in Sayreville, New Jersey with remote work flexibility and carries a compensation range of USD 119,800 to 179,800 annually. A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is required, with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales Consultants in the field and remotely by joining sales calls and providing constructive feedback to develop each consultant’s customer-facing skills as needed.
- Provide leadership and strategic oversight, monitoring all sales activities to drive profitability and district growth in line with the company vision and goals.
- Coordinate with cross-functional operating divisions such as credit/collections, purchasing, distribution, customer service, FF&E, National Accounts, Business Development, and Vendors to sustain customer satisfaction.
- Recruit, hire, train, assign territories, schedule time, coach, counsel, and, when necessary, implement corrective action for employees in assigned territories.
- Set sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual quotas for the district and its territories; partner with Sales Consultants to project expected sales volume and profit for existing and new properties, ensuring plans are executed to meet goals.
- Perform additional duties as required to support district objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and/or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years of experience in growing profitable B2B sales preferred
- 2-3 years of field and/or virtual sales experience
- Experience managing a remote sales team preferred
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to present information and respond to questions from suppliers, customers, management, and internal staff; strong cross-departmental collaboration
- Strong listening, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
- Proven leadership ability with coaching, development, and direction of individuals and teams; capability to lead meetings and manage team dynamics
- Experience guiding Sales Consultants to win new business and preserve existing revenue
- Solid organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines autonomously
- Detail-oriented with strong accuracy and problem-solving capabilities
- Decisiveness and sound judgment in timely decision-making
- Ability to adhere to policies and procedures consistently and objectively
- Financial acumen including pricing and forecasting
- Proficient in computer usage, maintaining a customer database, internet navigation, and Microsoft Office; willingness to master prescribed sales software (Phocas, GForce, Salesforce.com, PeopleSoft) and related tools

Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Remote, home-based office setting for this management role
- Regularly sit, stand, walk, and use a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone; occasional lifting up to 20 pounds
- Travel to meet Sales Consultants, customers, and prospects within the district as needed; overnight travel may be required for company events, district meetings, training, vendor fairs, and client appointments
- May use a personal vehicle for business travel; maintain a valid driver license and auto insurance as required
- If working remotely, maintain a dedicated workspace and reliable software to ensure timely communications and participation in calls
- Evening or weekend work may be required to accommodate customer needs
