Job Description

Competitive Energy Services is expanding its Energy Services Advisors team to support a growing portfolio of client energy contracts and sustainability initiatives. The Energy Services Advisor role is based in Boston, MA on a hybrid schedule, combining in-office collaboration with remote work, and offers a base salary plus commission to reward advisory excellence and new business development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of client energy supply contracts and cyclical renewals.
  • Meet and manage client expectations, workload, and any new business development goals.
  • Use a Client Relationship Management (CRM) system to maintain, track, and prioritize leads, opportunities, and contacts, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Understand all CES services to ensure clients receive full value from the firm.
  • Support, manage, and steward consulting and procurement client accounts by responding to calls, emails, and market-related inquiries.
  • Organize and lead client communications and meetings in person or via email, phone, or virtual formats.
  • Prepare for, attend, and lead client meetings; create presentations and provide analysis for deliverables, including commodity analyses, budgets, variance analysis, and custom reports.
  • Resolve client issues by developing and presenting effective solutions and recommendations.
  • Stay informed on competition and energy market changes by reading industry publications and participating in weekly CES market update calls.
  • Contribute to the ESA Team through group initiatives and helping achieve shared objectives.
  • Collaborate with CES Marketing to execute traditional and online lead generation campaigns, such as targeted emails, social media outreach, and telephone campaigns.
  • Cultivate and manage current leads and prospective sales opportunities by attending trade shows, speaking engagements, leveraging relationships for referrals, and identifying RFP opportunities aligned with CES services.

Requirements

  • A team member with a passion for learning and an interest in the energy sector, focused on meeting client needs and fostering long-term relationships.
  • Motivation for prospecting, meeting sales goals, negotiating, customer service, and building client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, be self-motivated, prioritize tasks, and adapt to department needs.
  • Strong self-confidence with excellent in-person, telephone, and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and organization, proactive mindset, and reliable follow-through.
  • Creative problem-solving approach and ingenuity in addressing challenges.
  • Proficiency with PC software, including standard MS Office applications.
  • Must be able to travel within New England.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

Salary: USD 60,000 - 100,000 per year
