Job Description
The Regional Sales Manager will drive growth for OmniMetrix generator monitoring hardware and recurring data and monitoring services across the Northeast territory. The role is responsible for owning the territory through channel partnerships, direct and enterprise account wins, and expansion of recurring monitoring revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and grow sales of OmniMetrix generator monitoring hardware, recurring monitoring subscriptions, and data services across the Northeast territory while meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Recruit, onboard, and develop generator dealers, distributors, and service organizations as OmniMetrix channel partners, driving partner attach rates on new generator sales and growth in the installed base.
- Prospect and close Consumer and Industrial direct opportunities with end users operating critical standby power, including healthcare, retail, telecom, water and wastewater, government, education, and multi-site commercial facilities.
- Build relationships with generator OEM sales and service teams, consulting and specifying engineers, electrical contractors, and facility managers to ensure OmniMetrix monitoring is included in specifications and service agreements.
- Increase recurring revenue by expanding monitored assets within existing accounts, driving renewals, and converting competitive and legacy monitoring installations.
- Deliver technical sales presentations, OmniView platform demonstrations, and site visits; translate generator controller, ATS, and compliance requirements (including NFPA 110 testing and reporting) into customer value.
- Create and execute a territory sales plan, quota, and target account plans; forecast and manage the regional sales budget; maintain an accurate pipeline and forecast in the CRM; and report on activity, wins, and market trends.
- Coordinate with customer support, engineering, and marketing to support installations and activations, provide field product feedback, and assist with regional trade shows and industry events.
- Track competitor offerings, pricing, and market developments in the Northeast and share insights with leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in the power generation industry, including at least 5 years in a B2B sales role selling generators, generator controls, transfer switches, or related products and services.
- Established network of generator dealers, distributors, OEM representatives, and service organizations in the Northeast US.
- Working knowledge of standby generator systems, including controllers, automatic transfer switches, maintenance and testing practices, and common failure modes.
- Proven history of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and building a channel from the ground up.
- Ability to sell both hardware and recurring subscription or data services, and to communicate ROI to technical and executive stakeholders.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Experience with technology and/or wireless data communications.
- Proficiency with CRM tools (including Salesforce or HubSpot) and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to travel domestically 30%–50%; valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Four-year college degree, or 5+ years of equivalent experience.

Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary of $80,000–$100,000 per year, depending on experience
- Commission: 3%–5% on invoiced and collected equipment and first-year monitoring sales

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with a generator OEM, generator dealer, or power systems distributor
- Experience selling remote monitoring, IoT, telematics, or SaaS solutions
- Familiarity with Modbus and other controller communication protocols, plus major generator and controller brands
- Understanding of NFPA 110, Joint Commission, and other codes governing emergency power in healthcare and critical facilities
- Relationships with national accounts, facility management firms, or specifying engineers in the region
- Technical background and generator operations knowledge
