Job Description

This Territory Sales Manager role supports growth in Central and Southeast Ohio by managing an established customer base and building a qualified pipeline to meet sales, margin, and market share targets. The position is located in Columbus, OH and works onsite with travel across the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an established sales territory throughout Central and Southeast Ohio.
  • Develop new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing customers.
  • Sell across multiple customer channels, including end users, chain accounts, dealers, broadline distributors, and design consultants.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend equipment solutions to improve operational performance and profitability.
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, and ongoing account management.
  • Conduct equipment demonstrations, presentations, and customer training when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to support successful equipment ordering, delivery, installation, startup, and customer support.
  • Use CRM tools to manage opportunities, track activities, and maintain accurate sales forecasts.
  • Build strong relationships with manufacturer partners and stay current on product offerings, promotions, and industry trends.
  • Represent Kappus professionally at industry events, trade shows, customer meetings, and association functions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by delivering exceptional service before, during, and after the sale.
  • Consistently achieve sales, margin, and market share objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years of outside sales experience.
  • College degree required.
  • Strong commitment to Integrity, Customer Focus, Positive Attitude, Teamwork, Results, and Safety.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to prospect, develop, and close new business opportunities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Self-motivated ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional presence and customer-first mindset.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in foodservice equipment, restaurant operations, commercial foodservice, beverage equipment, hospitality, distribution, or a related industry is preferred.
  • Proven history of achieving or exceeding sales goals.
  • Experience managing customer relationships and developing new business opportunities.
  • Ability to judge and manage project timelines, coordinating lead times to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and without close supervision, including working the schedule required by job demands.
  • Ability to lead others through change in a dynamic environment.
