Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate, group, and leisure accounts across key market segments
- Actively pursue and close new business through outbound outreach, site visits, RFP responses, and client entertainment
- Oversee the full sales cycle from initial inquiry to contract signing and post-stay follow-up
- Negotiate rates, terms, and concessions within defined parameters while protecting yield and market position
- Build and maintain strong relationships with travel management companies, corporate travel managers, event planners, and luxury travel advisors
- Represent Nine Orchard at trade shows, industry events, client dinners, and sales trips as required
Requirements
- 4 to 7 years of hotel sales experience with a proven track record of managing accounts and meeting revenue goals
- Experience in luxury, boutique, or lifestyle properties and an understanding of what sets independent hotels apart
- Established relationships in the New York market across corporate accounts, travel trade, event planners, or luxury travel advisors
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write winning proposals and present confidently
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a lean, fast-moving environment
- Proficiency with hotel sales and property management systems (Delphi, Opera, or similar)
- Willingness to travel, attend evening events, and support client entertainment as needed

The Role
Nine Orchard seeks a Sales Manager with deep market knowledge, an established network, and a refined instinct for luxury hospitality. This is a senior individual contributor position with a direct impact on the hotel’s revenue strategy and account growth.
Additional Experience (Nice to Have)
- Experience with group and event sales, including catering and buyout business
- Familiarity with the New York lifestyle, F&B, and cultural events landscape
- Knowledge of GDS platforms and global travel trade distribution
