VP, Business Development, Captive Distribution Program
Job Description
Context: Vice President of Business Development leads broker-focused growth for BevCap's Captive Distribution Program, expanding access to captive and alternative risk solutions through independent brokers and agency partners.
Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture relationships with independent insurance brokers and agency partners in selected industries
- Position BevCap as a specialty partner and resource for complex risk contexts and captive solutions
- Educate brokers on program design, underwriting methods, and the profile of ideal clients
- Create a steady network of referral and production partners
- Promote adoption and expansion of BevCap captive and alternative risk programs
- Identify and qualify opportunities generated by broker partners
- Collaborate with internal teams to assess, structure, and place risks within the programs
- Offer strategic input to improve program design, market position, and scalability
- Support broker partners through the full deal lifecycle, including:
- Opportunity qualification
- Data gathering and underwriting strategy
- Program design and proposal development
- Final presentation and close
- Serve as a subject matter expert on complex placements and alternative risk strategies
- Execute targeted outreach to broaden broker penetration within defined verticals
- Represent BevCap at industry events, trade associations, and broker meetings
- Strengthen BevCap's brand as a leader in niche, best-practice driven insurance solutions
- Collaborate with account managers, consultants, and leadership to deliver successful program execution and partner satisfaction
- Maintain visibility into the deal pipeline and activity via CRM tools
- Prioritize distribution through select brokers with deep vertical expertise
- Access proprietary captive programs and differentiated risk solutions
- Target specific verticals supported by robust data and clearly defined ideal client profiles
- Develop a scalable production model through strategic partnerships
- Operate with high visibility in a fast-growing, specialized firm
Requirements
- 3–7+ years of property and casualty insurance experience
- Experience with wholesale brokerage
- Experience in program business
- Carrier or BGA distribution experience
- Retail production background including captive programs
- Strong understanding of core P&C coverages
- Exposure to or interest in captives, large deductibles, or alternative risk structures
- Proven ability to build and maintain external business relationships
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex concepts clearly
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple opportunities in flight
- P&C license or eligibility to obtain within 30 days
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Self-starter who can operate independently and deliver results

Compensation & Work Environment
- Salary: USD 150,000 - 210,000 per year
