Job Description

The Broker Sales Manager at Clever Care Health Plan partners closely with the Market Manager to grow Medicare Advantage enrollments through contracted agencies and agents. This hybrid role in the United States focuses on strengthening existing channel relationships, building new ones, and ensuring RTS Agents are supported with training and resources ahead of AEP.

Working from home and traveling as needed, the BSM helps educate prospective members about Clever Care products, coordinates face-to-face conversations, and supports compliant marketing and events across agency, community, and provider locations.

What you’ll do

  • Develop, expand, and increase productivity within the assigned market’s agency distribution channel by ensuring channels understand the benefits of the Clever Care Program and follow both Clever Care and CMS compliance standards.
  • Encourage agents and agencies to sell Clever Care products to clients and the community.
  • Evolve existing provider and community relationships to improve channel performance.
  • Identify new provider and community referral opportunities.
  • Partner with the Network department and Field Engagement to build and manage key relationships with providers and community-based organizations (including Primary Care Doctors, Medical Group/MSO, and ancillary providers such as acupuncturists, chiropractors, optometrists, or dentists).
  • Work with agents to conduct sales and marketing presentations for prospects and to leverage community partnerships to host events.
  • Create a lead pipeline using provider partnerships and personal network.
  • Guide agents to develop creative, compliant ways to find and engage prospects.
  • Focus on improving the average number of enrollments per agent and agency.
  • Evaluate agent and agency performance using key indicators such as close ratio and lead pipeline, and track disposition of Clever Care-provided leads or events.
  • Attend sales training and department sessions.
  • Lead, collaborate, and execute provider and community relations activities, including event planning, execution, and tracking.
  • Produce regular campaign and event tracking, plus weekly activity reports that show return on investment, key initiatives, and activities.
  • Follow sales activity standards as directed by the manager.
  • Manage allocated agency co-op budgets by evaluating agent and agency ROI for sales events, sponsorship activities, and key community events.
  • Maintain knowledge of compliance regulatory procedures and Medicare Marketing Guidelines for use in all functions, processes, and communication.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and compliance requirements.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications

  • Active California Life and Health Insurance License is required.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance are required, with a clean driving record.
  • Experience working with insurance agencies/agents/field marketing organizations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid, and other government health programs/income assistance programs.
  • Experience working with senior citizens and low-income individuals.
  • Strong customer service.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Bilingual in Mandarin, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Thai, Bahasa, Korean, Tagalog, or Khmer is preferred, but not required.

Compensation and work setup

  • Salary range: $67,522 to $81,024 per year.
  • Work arrangement: Work from home with travel to meet agents and agencies, and to attend events at agency, community, or provider locations.

Physical and working environment

  • Must be able to travel when needed or required.
  • Ability to operate a keyboard, mouse, and phone; perform repetitive motion (keyboard); and write for note-taking.
  • Ability to sit for long periods; stand, sit, reach, bend, and lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas to impart information to the public and convey detailed instructions to staff accurately and quickly.
  • Work is performed in an office environment and/or remotely, with frequent contact with staff and the public.
  • May occasionally require irregular hours based on business needs.
