Business Development Manager
Job Description
In Dexter, Michigan, LMI Technologies is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth for our robotic vision solutions within manufacturing environments. This onsite role centers on identifying fresh customers, engaging system integrators, and uncovering new application areas to expand our footprint across plants while building partnerships that support long-term expansion. The ideal candidate brings automotive manufacturing experience and a solid understanding of robotic vision systems and automation environments.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate new business relationships with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, system integrators, and other manufacturers.
- Actively engage system integrators to introduce our robotic vision technology and establish strategic partnerships.
- Identify new application areas, processes, industries, and plant locations where our solutions are not yet deployed.
- Collaborate with customers and integrators to uncover automation challenges solvable by robotic vision.
- Help define fresh market-entry opportunities based on observed customer needs and gaps in applications.
- Support technical discussions, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept activities in coordination with internal technical teams.
- Educate customers and integrators on robotic vision capabilities, use cases, and value proposition.
- Provide feedback on market trends, customer requirements, and competitive activity.
- Represent the company at customer sites, integrator offices, and industry events.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of business development experience within industrial machine vision, robotic vision systems, automation, industrial software, or robotics.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing.
- Solid understanding of robotic vision systems and automation environments.
- Deep understanding of the OEM/Tier-1/Integrator relationship dynamic.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to operate independently in a field-facing role.
- Willingness to travel 50% of the time.
