Business Development Representative - SMB Investment Manager

AppFolio Inc is hiring a Business Development Representative (SMB - Investment Manager) to help drive growth through consistent pipeline development and increased brand visibility. This hybrid role supports prospects and property-management relationships while working closely with the sales team to build new opportunities and improve conversion.

Based in Goleta, CA, the position reports to an office hub at least 3 times a week. AppFolio notes the role is local to either Dallas, TX or Santa Barbara, CA, and it is designed for candidates with strong outbound prospecting experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Place 50 outbound calls per day to qualify leads, build relationships with property managers, and create new sales opportunities from cold accounts
• Partner with Account Executives to qualify prospects and learn sales tactics to collaborate on deal wins
• Update and maintain Salesforce and Gong with new notes and prospect intel from ongoing conversations
• Provide weekly reporting that includes both qualitative and quantitative results
• Continue expanding knowledge of the industry, including the company’s competitive posture

Requirements

• 3+ years of work experience, with BDR/Sales experience preferred
• Strong prospecting skills
• Exceptional drive and a clear passion for results
• Willingness to learn new skills and build a long-term career in sales
• PropTech or FinTech SaaS experience preferred
• Travel expected

• Expected compensation for this role is $76,514.26 OTE
