Job Description
The District Sales Manager oversees a regional sales team in Omaha onsite, driving revenue across assigned territories in collaboration with Branch Managers and the Regional Sales & Marketing Director. The role emphasizes exceptional customer service and profitable district growth within United Rentals.
Responsibilities
- Motivate and actively assist Outside Sales Representatives to meet and surpass equipment rental, sales, and total revenue goals
- Collaborate with the District Manager and Branch Managers to identify new markets, monitor market trends, assess competition, and address factors impacting profitability
- Support Branch Managers in defining sales territories, setting goals, and forecasting for Outside Sales Reps
- Coordinate Inside Sales Rep activities, aligning their objectives with those of Outside Sales Reps
- Assist Branch Managers with sales blitzes and coordinate other customer-focused events to strengthen relationships and increase district sales penetration
- Promote revenue generation from Key Accounts within the district, including National Accounts, Strategic Accounts, and assigned Accounts
- Encourage efficient and effective use of Salesforce across the team
- Expect approximately 50 percent travel to support district activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 7+ years of successful outside sales, sales management, or related leadership experience with proven planning, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities; strong interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient computer skills with experience using Salesforce
- Demonstrated leadership, customer service, presentation, analytical, and verbal/written communication capabilities
- Independent self-starter with structured approach, strong organization, and solid business acumen
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
- At least 50 percent travel expectation
