Regional Sales Director, Hardware (East Division)
Job Description
Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a Regional Sales Director for the East Division to lead remote field sales, oversee key accounts, and execute cross-functional strategies that drive regional growth in the hardware segment. Based in New Jersey with remote work flexibility, this leadership role demands up to 70% travel and a collaborative approach across sales, marketing, finance, and operations to meet aggressive regional objectives.
Responsibilities
- Achieve top-line sales targets based on division and region goals & objectives
- Assemble full-year plans to meaningfully grow the business double-digit year over year with top retailers, including annual meetings and mandatory quarterly progress updates
- Manage key account relationships across ownership, management, marketing, and sales
- Collaborate cross-functionally with distribution sales teams, product marketing, channel, finance, HR, operations, sales enablement, and customer service to reach sales goals
- Cultivate customer relationships in the assigned region to drive incremental growth through solutions selling
- Activate national channel and brand marketing strategies in the field
- Provide competitive intelligence on market activity
- Manage SG&A budgets, promotional budgets, events, planning, and forecasting
- Ensure effective use of CRM tools (Salesforce) to track key deliverables
- Demonstrate knowledge of IT business systems such as PowerBI and Salesforce
- Analyze performance metrics to coach and develop the Sales Support team; mentor and motivate direct reports regularly
- Support Talent Development through the Performance Enablement Process (PEP) and actively participate in identifying and growing talent
- Conduct performance management with meaningful feedback and coaching; seek feedback to support personal development through the PEP process
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required (Business Management preferred); relevant construction field experience can substitute for higher education
- Minimum 10+ years of direct or distribution sales experience, with exposure to high-level executives, C-Suite, and jobsite directors; minimum 5 years of direct managerial experience
- Proven ability to build relationships across all organizational levels to drive strategy, influence owners, and generate revenue
- Track record of sustainable revenue and profit growth
- Financial acumen with experience budgeting for a region; strong operations, sales, and customer service understanding
- Proficient in MS Office and smartphone usage
- Willingness to travel up to 70% regionally; territory covers east of the Mississippi
- Knowledge of IT business systems including PowerBI and Salesforce

Details
Salary: USD 136,500 - 219,800 per year. Location: New Jersey (remote). Travel: up to 70% of the time, regionally; East of the Mississippi. Education: Bachelor's Degree required. Experience: 10+ years in direct or distribution sales; 5+ years of direct managerial experience.
