Job Description

Based in Austin, TX, this Sales Manager role oversees four Select Service hotels operated by an independent Aimbridge Hospitality franchisee, with on-site responsibilities in Austin. The position is focused on achieving sales and revenue targets while cultivating strong client relationships and coordinating with Directors of Sales and hotel leadership to grow market share across Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel, and Groups.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve the sales and revenue targets established for the four Select Service hotels.
  • Collaborate with the Directors of Sales and hotel leadership to realize revenue and market share objectives for the assigned properties.
  • Adjust sales focus by property type, including Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel, and Groups, as applicable.
  • Work as much of each workday as necessary to fulfill duties; overtime applies for OEM associates and is calculated accordingly.
  • Proactively initiate solicitation calls, conduct sales tours, and entertain clients in Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel, and Groups segments as appropriate.
  • Expand relationships with assigned accounts within Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel, and Groups segments as applicable.
  • Monitor and evaluate trends within the respective market segment.
  • Engage guests and colleagues in a courteous, attentive and service-oriented manner.
  • Adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality’s policies, company standards, and sales metrics.
  • Develop a comprehensive working knowledge of hotel operations and departmental policies.
  • Maintain visibility in the local community and relevant industry organizations.
  • Assist in implementing or participating in promotions related to direct sales segments, such as sales blitzes.
  • Attend required daily, weekly, and monthly meetings and other management functions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Area Director of Sales.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent; at least 2 years of hotel sales experience.
  • Valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to negotiate, persuade, sell and influence hotel leadership, guests, and corporate clients.
  • Proficiency in general computer skills, with emphasis on Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks, with solid organization and presentation abilities.

  • This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Aimbridge Hospitality. The franchisee is a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc., and controls all employment policies and practices.
  • If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by the franchisee, not Marriott International, Inc.
  • The Area Sales Manager is responsible for attaining goals tied to the performance of four Select Service hotels.
  • The role involves soliciting and securing new accounts for all assigned hotels.
  • The Area Sales Manager collaborates with the Directors of Sales and hotel leadership to achieve revenue and market share goals.
  • Sales focus may vary based on the properties to which the associate is assigned (Leisure, SMERF, Business Travel, Groups).
  • Management-level associates are expected to work as many hours as necessary to complete job responsibilities; OEM overtime applies.
