Senior Sales Manager
Job Description
Marriott International, Inc is seeking a Senior Sales Manager to lead strategic revenue efforts for our New York on-site property. This role emphasizes proactive business development, managing sizable revenue opportunities, upselling to maximize earnings, and cultivating relationships that propel both personal and property revenue goals.
Responsibilities
- Target key accounts and markets with proactive outreach and broad account coverage to maximize revenue potential.
- Collaborate with a counterpart to jointly oversee business opportunities and ensure seamless execution.
- Handle large, complex incoming opportunities for the property, guiding them through the sales cycle.
- Identify and pursue new business to meet personal and property revenue targets.
- Prioritize accounts with strong potential and develop tailored sales plans.
- Partner with colleagues to craft innovative proposals for events and experiences.
- Increase revenue by upselling packages and options.
- Maintain awareness of market dynamics, including competitors, economic trends, and supply-demand, to inform selling strategies.
- Close opportunities that align with market conditions and the property’s needs using strong negotiation and selling skills.
- Manage high-stakes business and customer expectations while building relationships to secure future bookings.
- Expand the customer base through community engagement to support sales opportunities.
- Provide exemplary sales service to grow share of the account, including activities like calls, entertainment, FAM trips, and trade shows.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Utilize intranet resources, templates, and information to support sales activities.
- Participate in site visits and facilitate contract execution as needed.
- Prepare and execute contracts and proposals, maintaining clear customer correspondence throughout the process.
- Apply brand customer service standards and property brand standards throughout the sales cycle.
Requirements
- Associate degree (2-year) from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related field, with five years of sales and marketing or related professional experience.
- Bachelor’s degree (4-year) in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related field, with three years of sales and marketing or related professional experience.
