Job Description
An experienced logistics sales professional is invited to join M & L Worldwide Logistics as a Business Development Executive, driving growth in both domestic and international freight portfolios. Based on-site in Indianapolis, IN, the role emphasizes expanding key client relationships, pursuing new business through consultative logistics solutions, and working closely with internal teams to deliver top-tier service. The assigned territory spans Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Iowa, with travel typically ranging from half to three-quarters of each month.
Responsibilities
- Expand revenue and deepen engagement within the existing client portfolio
- Actively pursue new opportunities through cold outreach, networking, and referrals
- Apply inside sales techniques to maintain a robust pipeline
- Maintain high customer satisfaction through regular contact and follow-up
- Meet and exceed activity targets for prospecting calls, presentations, proposals, and closes
- Provide documented activity reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
- Plan and execute strategic and tactical sales initiatives to maximize revenue and profitability and reach targets
- Collaborate with internal customer support teams to ensure a seamless client experience
- Develop long-term partnerships by serving as a trusted logistics advisor rather than simply quoting freight
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics & Supply Chain, or related field preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in logistics, sales, or related field
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of current marketing and advertising trends and best practices
- Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making ability
- Solid business acumen and a strong understanding of the sales cycle
