Job Description

The Area Sales Director for Chronic Therapies leads the regional sales strategy and execution within a defined geographic area, coordinating with national goals, other Area Directors, and Operations to drive growth and high quality service. This onsite role is based in New Orleans, LA.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed sales performance and activity targets for all therapies within the territory.
  • Recruit, train, coach, develop, and supervise the chronic therapies sales team.
  • Create and drive the implementation of the chronic therapies sales plan.
  • Plan, forecast, and allocate area resources, including staffing, budget, and key initiatives.
  • Participate as an active member of the chronic business sales leadership team and cross-functional groups to provide field perspective.
  • Source, interview, hire, and onboard the chronic therapies sales team within the territory.
  • Maintain high visibility with the sales team through field days and participation in regional meetings and conferences.
  • Foster team spirit and enthusiasm through clear verbal and written communication.
  • Enhance and refine the sales presentations used by the chronic therapies sales team.
  • Model leadership by generating new business opportunities and demonstrating success.
  • Collaborate with Market Access to identify and implement area pull-through opportunities.
  • Work with Operations to build strong relationships with branch management, ensuring sales efforts are supported by branch services and aligned with branch capabilities.
  • Coordinate with acute therapies sales leaders to deliver a synergistic customer approach.
  • Identify Key Opinion Leaders within the area and cultivate relationships to leverage their influence.
  • Develop partnerships with targeted physician group practices.
  • Lead the recruitment and management of Advisory Board Members in the area.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop and implement the Ambulatory Infusion Suite strategy within the area.
  • Establish relationships with Professional Medical Societies in the area and create strategies to drive results.
  • Identify opportunities and cultivate relationships with targeted Patient Advocacy groups to improve business outcomes.
  • Monitor regional industry, market, competitor, and sales trends to adjust plans and maximize opportunities.
  • Maintain expertise in local market dynamics and the complex disease states served by Option Care Health.
  • Provide input to the chronic therapies field sales team compensation plan.
  • Monitor and manage sales activity to maintain focus on priority offices and accounts.
  • Ensure all employees in the area comply with Option Care Health policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of recent in office-based physician sales leadership experience with a proven record of success.
  • Alternatively, a high school diploma with at least 6 years of relevant in office-based physician sales leadership experience and a proven track record.
  • Willingness to travel at least 60 percent of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
  • MBA in Business Administration with at least 10 years of pharmaceutical or healthcare sales experience.
  • Previous home healthcare experience.
  • Participation in task forces or initiative teams showing impact beyond the immediate span of control.
  • Background in selling to Neurology, Gastroenterology, and/or Allergy/Immunology specialties.
  • Understanding of billing and reimbursement procedures for medical offices and hospitals (Commercial Insurance, Medicare Part B & D, Fee for Service Medicaid, Managed Medicaid).

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has supervisory responsibilities, including hiring, recommending and approving promotions and pay increases, scheduling, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.

Compensation and Pay Transparency

Salary: USD 145,568.38 to 242,591.46 per year.

Salary and pay decisions are determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The stated pay range reflects applicable state transparency requirements.
