Job Description
The Area Sales Manager at Hersha Hospitality Management, LP is responsible for overseeing a cluster of hotels in the New York area, driving revenue through securing both past and new business to meet or exceed targets. This hybrid role is based in New York City with three days in the office and two days remote.
Compensation
Annual salary: USD 85,000 to USD 90,000.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of hotels to deliver guest satisfaction and solicit both past and new business, ensuring revenue goals are met or exceeded.
- Oversee a hotel cluster and maximize revenue by selling all property offerings to existing and prospective clients.
- Develop and manage transient and group opportunities, ensuring all solicitation steps and closings are properly completed and documented.
- Actively pursue corporate accounts for inclusion in the hotel travel program via personal outreach, site visits, tele-prospecting, email-prospecting, blitz campaigns, and sales trips within assigned territories.
- Negotiate, draft, and monitor account agreements and performance. Ensure committed rates are competitive and maximize yield for profitability; this includes annual rate renewals and ongoing acquisition of new accounts and group business.
- Build and sustain steady volume from current corporate accounts and travel agents, fostering strong relationships with corporate travel managers, procurement officers, and other decision makers.
- Represent the properties at trade shows and industry events as directed.
- Develop strategic sales action plans tailored to the needs of the segment and the hotel.
- Adhere to sustainability guidelines aligned with HHM EarthView program.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hotel sales experience within the hotel industry; business travel experience is preferred.
