Job Description

At cellumation, Inc., a North American automation technology company, the Business Development Associate will identify new business opportunities, nurture client relationships, and assist in shaping sales strategies, with opportunities to grow into a market-facing role. This hybrid position in The Woodlands, TX reports to the Director of Sales and collaborates with the sales team and system integrator partners to advance opportunities across the full sales cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with e-commerce, 3PL, and distribution center operators
  • Collaborate with the Sales team and system integrator partners to move opportunities through the full sales cycle
  • Build and manage a self-generated pipeline of qualified leads
  • Be accountable for hitting quarterly pipeline and revenue targets
  • Assist in developing and executing business development strategies
  • Translate customer operational requirements (throughput, sortation logic, footprint constraints) into preliminary system concepts in collaboration with the engineering team
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis
  • Participate in networking events and industry meetings
  • Maintain accurate records of leads and client interactions in CRM systems

Requirements

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development (internships included)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer relationship management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Understanding of automated systems (e.g., conveyors, sorters, diverters, robotics, and intelligent material flow solutions)
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)
  • Strong research and analytical abilities
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow
  • Experience translating customer operational requirements into system structures, layouts, and automation concepts for intralogistics environments
