Job Description
Senior Business Development Director for Tata Consultancy Services' Clever Energy in North America, focused on expanding energy management and IoT services through strategic sales and strong client relationships. This onsite role is based in Santa Barbara, California.
Responsibilities
- Introduce and promote TCS Clever Energy energy management services to Retail, Banking, Manufacturing, CPG, ERU and Utility clients across North America.
- Present and sell the Clever Energy energy and emission management product to current and prospective customers.
- Energy management product sales background is preferred, ideally with experience from energy management or product-focused companies.
- Achieve annual OBV/TCV exceeding USD 10 million with consistent 10 percent quarterly growth.
- Secure at least one new customer per quarter and close large deals valued at USD 10 million or more every six months.
- Close deals within 4 to 6 months and maintain a win to loss ratio of 70:30.
- Build durable client relationships by understanding needs and jointly identifying major energy management challenges and preferences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote Clever Energy and generate new business opportunities.
- Conduct market analysis and lead business planning and strategic sales activities, with regular sales tracking and status reporting.
- Monitor client engagement, support business reviews, and implement measures to gain traction with clients.
- Drive awareness of TCS Clever Energy with targeted clients through tradeshows, thought leadership, client roadshows, and workshops.
Requirements
- Approximately 13 years of experience with energy management companies and a proven track record in selling energy management products.
- Certified energy expert with familiarity across BAS systems, EMS systems, software, services, and hardware sales in energy management for commercial and industrial facilities.
- Experience selling products and services in energy management, digital engineering, IoT, edge computing, cloud, and analytics.
- Demonstrated success selling services, projects, or programs valued around USD 5–10 million in the energy management space.
- Ability to build and maintain a strong client network within the energy management sector.
- Experience developing sales plans for a customer portfolio and individual account plans.
