Job Description

The Hyatt Corporate Office is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join HSF - National Sales. The role is based in Chicago, IL with remote work options and offers a yearly salary range of USD 78,500 to 100,000. The position focuses on identifying, qualifying, and expanding B2B relationships across designated markets, supporting new openings and conversions, strengthening market presence, and generating new customer demand.

Responsibilities

  • Pinpoint and cultivate promising B2B accounts across designated markets, industries, segments, and hotel priorities.
  • Build comprehensive account intelligence, including key contacts, buyer needs, travel patterns, sourcing behavior, competitive landscape, business potential, and next steps.
  • Implement proactive prospecting plans leveraging internal and external tools, market data, customer insights, and hotel priorities.
  • Generate new demand and secure Hyatt's inclusion in relevant group, transient, extended stay, project, and other sourcing opportunities.
  • Support revenue generation for new openings, conversions, focus hotels, emerging markets, and the Essentials/select-service portfolio, as assigned.
  • Engage clients through direct outreach, introductory presentations, market visits, networking events, sales blitzes, trade shows, and industry functions.
  • Apply analytics and market intelligence to prioritize activities, assess account potential, and identify higher-value opportunities.
  • Collaborate with hotel sales teams, owners, operators, and internal stakeholders to align business development activity with hotel needs and commercial priorities.
  • Document activity, account intelligence, referrals, and next steps in Hyatt systems with disciplined CRM usage and follow-through.
  • Manage qualified opportunities or newly developed accounts through appropriate transitions to Hyatt Sales Force, National Account Team, Core Account Team, or hotel owner as applicable.
  • Contribute to special initiatives and cross-functional projects that enhance business development focus areas and support broader National Sales priorities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hotel sales experience or equivalent in business development, hospitality sales, or customer-facing commercial roles.
  • Strong sales knowledge and proven experience in transient, group, or extended stay segments.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, qualify, and develop new B2B relationships.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to evaluate account potential, prioritize activity, and map customer needs to Hyatt solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations, follow-up, and customer-facing storytelling.
  • Proven capability to build relationships with customers, hotel teams, operators, owners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, productivity, and CRM discipline.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a remote or distributed team environment.
